SUMMARY:Adelaide Fringe 2018
DESCRIPTION:Born 57 years ago (although they don’t look a day over 25) and they’ve grown up to become the Southern Hemisphere’s largest\, and Australia’s biggest ticket selling open access arts festival! \nThey completely take over Adelaide\, her surrounding suburbs and even some regional areas of South Australia for 31 magical days and nights each year. The city practically pulses with creativity. \nIn 2018\, they’ll happen from 16 February – 18 March and if you ask anyone who’s ever been lucky enough to experience the Fringe\, they’ll tell you themselves that it’s the best time of year to be in Adelaide. \nThe atmosphere is indescribable\, but here are some words that almost do the job; mythical\, magical\, fantabulous\, fantasmagorical\, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. You get the idea – they’re one in a million. \nVenues big and small\, pop-up and permanent house thousands of artists from all over Adelaide\, Australia and the world. Around most of Adelaide’s corners\, whether in an alleyway\, a tent\, a pub\, a laundromat or an abandoned hospital for the criminally insane\, you’ll be bound to find Fringe goodness in some shape or form. \nThe important thing about Adelaide Fringe is that they’re open access\, which means that we don’t have a curator handpicking shows. Anyone who wants to be a part of the Adelaide Fringe\, can*! They provide a way for artists across all disciplines to share their work with the world. \nWith free events\, ground breaking work\, new talent\, innovative thinking and original voices\, we’re for everyone. To put it simply\, they’re here to unleash the fun! \n*So long as they’re not doing anything illegal. \nFor tickets and full program click here \n \n

SUMMARY:Queen featuring Adam Lambert
DESCRIPTION:TEG-DAINTY announced that Queen + Adam Lambert will embark on a 5-city arena tour of Australia in February and March 2018.  The tour will showcase a spectacular new stage production and a set list which the band hints will provide some surprises. \n \nQueen + Adam Lambert’s tour dates are: \n•    SYDNEY – Wednesday 21 February at Qudos Bank Arena\, ticketek.com.au\n•    BRISBANE – Saturday 24 February at Brisbane Entertainment Centre\, ticketek.com.au\n•    ADELAIDE – Tuesday 27 February at Adelaide Entertainment Centre\, ticketek.com.au\n•    MELBOURNE – Friday 2 March at Rod Laver Arena\, ticketek.com.au\n•    PERTH – Tuesday 6 March at Perth Arena\, ticketek.com.au \nTickets for the five-city tour go on sale on Friday 23rd June at 10am (local time). \nMembers of both Queen and Adam Lambert’s Fan Clubs will be able to purchase tickets before the general public beginning Friday 16th June from 10am.  Telstra Thanks pre-sale\, just for Telstra customers\, starts at Tuesday 20th June\, 10am (local time) and runs until Thursday 22nd June\, 10am (local time). Go to telstra.com/music for details. \nQueen + Adam Lambert toured Australia in 2014 to sold out arena shows and stunning accolades from fans and critics.  The Adelaide date marks the first-time Queen has performed in Adelaide in over 3 decades! \nFor their 2018 tour\, the band will unveil a brand new show including a specially designed state-of-the-art production. The choice of performance material will no doubt acknowledge this year’s 40th anniversary of Queen’s biggest-selling studio album to date\, News of the World from 1977\, which yielded the immortal anthems “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”. \nPaul Dainty\, President and CEO of TEG-DAINTY commented “Queen + Adam Lambert’s sold out tour of 2014 was one of the highlights of my career as a concert promoter\, to see those iconic songs come to life was incredible. I am very much looking forward to bringing the band back to Australia in 2018 with this brand new show.” \nQueen drummer and co-founder Roger Taylor insists the 2018 tour “will look entirely different to the show we took around before. Production has really changed a lot\, the things you can do now\, you have a much broader palette\, the technology has really come along. But we don’t use it all. We don’t play to click track. It’s 100% live. We’re planning on doing stuff we either haven’t done before or haven’t done for a long time. We started as an albums band\, that’s what we were. The fact that we had hits was just a byproduct.” \nGuitarist Brian May confirms Queen’s 2018 shows will have a more ambitious musical agenda. “The general public knows the hits\, so you’ve got to cater for that\,” he says\, “but we can chuck in a few things that people really don’t expect. We’ll do quite a bit more of that this time around. There are so many dimensions to Adam\, which of course fits with our music. He can get down and do the rock stuff really dirty\, and you have all those dimensions\, and we can explore that even more.” \nAdam Lambert welcomes the challenge of digging deeper into the band’s canon of classics. “What people should know if they came to the shows a couple of years back\, is obviously we will still be playing the big hit songs you know and love from Queen\, but we thought it would be good to challenge ourselves a bit\,” he explains. “Change it up a little bit\, change the visuals\, change all the technology\, change the set list to some degree. We will probably be pulling some other songs out of the Queen catalogue which we haven’t done before\, which I am very excited about.” \nQueen + Adam Lambert’s magnificent 2018 touring show has been custom tailored for the band by some of the world’s most cutting-edge creative talents. Responsible for design and production is Ric Lipson from Entertainment Architects Stufish Productions\, renowned worldwide for their innovative work with artists such as Pink Floyd\, the Rolling Stones\, and U2\, as well the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. \nMaking use of over 300 moving lights during the show is the highly acclaimed lighting designer Rob Sinclair\, who has illuminated tours for major artists including Adele\, Peter Gabriel and Kylie Minogue. The production’s genuinely eye-popping laser elements are the work of ER Productions\, behind both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics and seen by over 900 million people worldwide. On the musical side\, the Queen + Adam Lambert touring band also features Spike Edney on keyboards\, Neil Fairclough on bass\, and Tyler Warren on percussion. \nSince first sharing the stage for the American Idol final in May 2009\, Queen + Adam Lambert have proved to be a hugely successful global partnership\, having now played more than 90 shows in every corner of the world. In summer 2012 they played their first full live shows across Europe\, making their spectacular official debut in front of half a million people in Kiev. \nWhen Queen + Adam Lambert played their first North American tour in 2014 they were crowned Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honor awards and Best Live Band of the Year in Ultimate Classic Rock’s reader’s poll. This critically acclaimed tour was followed in 2014 with massive summer festivals in South Korea and Japan\, and a sold out arena tour of Australia and New Zealand. \n2015 proved a logistically challenging year for the band with 24 more sold-out dates in 10 countries right across Europe\, a return visit for Queen\, this time with Adam\, to South America\, to headline Brazil’s Rock in Rio\, and again perform in Argentina\, as well playing Chile. Summer 2016 saw Q + AL headline 15 more European festival shows beginning with Portugal’s Rock in Rio Lisbon\, where they played to 74\,000 people on opening night\, followed by an extensive arena tour across Asia including three nights at Tokyo’s famed Budokan. \nQueen + Adam Lambert’s 25-city North American arena tour kicks off on June 23 followed by Europe and the UK tour commencing November 1. \nGrab you tickets here \n

SUMMARY:Grace Jones
DESCRIPTION:The music world has recently mourned the loss of our most blazing art-rock aristocrats leaving only one with that level of skill\, mystique\, star-power and otherworldly androgyny: Grace Jones. She demolishes pop culture conventions on how female performers should age or behave. \nIn a career that seems to have spanned several lifetimes she has been a singer\, songwriter\, supermodel\, record producer and actress. She is listed in VH1’s 100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll and has been an inspiration for numerous artists including Annie Lennox\, Lady Gaga\, Rihanna\, Lorde\, Santigold and Basement Jaxx. \nIt is 36 long years since Grace Jones appeared in Adelaide. But her latest festival gigs have been leaving audiences and reviewers around the world gasping at the spectacle (a new outfit for each song!)\, the spontaneity\, the simultaneous warmth and danger of her stage presence. \nHeed the warning of James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem: “If you missed Grace Jones… you’re going to find out from your friends that were there\, you fucked up.” \n \n
